The Village
Welcome to Corbridge
Corbridge is one of the most fashionable locations in the North of England. Its a vibrant, historic village centred on the Market square and St. Andrews Saxon church.
The village is situated in the Tyne Valley, just 20 miles to the West of Newcastle and 3 miles to the East of the Market Town of Hexham. It is the perfect base to explore Hadrian’s Wall as well as the everything that Newcastle upon Tyne has to offer.
Corbridge Roman Town is the only place in Britain where you can walk along the original surface of a Roman ‘high street’, flanked by the excavated remains of granaries, a fountain, markets, workshops and temples.
In the Corbridge museum you can discover a fabulous array of finds from the Roman town, including the famous Corbridge lion carving.
Within an hour’s drive is the stunning Northumberland coast line, with its fabulous beaches and historic castles, including Warkworth, Dunstanburgh and most famously Bamburgh.
Corbridge pubs and restaurants
Corbridge has six pubs, numerous great restaurants and tea shops, small specialist fashion, jewellery and antique shops - all mixed in with a butcher, a baker, a greengrocer, and a deli that provide the highest quality local produce at very reasonable prices.
The village makes for an interesting half day wandering around the quaint shops, window shopping or sipping your favourite beverages in one of our hostelries.
Teviot Cottage is less than 100m from the market square and all the action.
